CLP
Na lógica do sistema científico português, a unidade de investigação com a qual o Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros se relaciona mais de perto é o Centro de Literatura Portuguesa (CLP), já que o objeto dessa unidade é justamente o estudo da literatura portuguesa mas também o das literaturas de língua portuguesa. Acresce ainda que os docentes de literatura brasileira com que a FLUC conta são também membros integrados do CLP.
Rede de Professores de Literatura Brasileira em Portugal
O IEB mantém relações de colaboração estreita com a Rede de Professores de Literatura Brasileira em Portugal, criada em 2015. Os objetivos da Rede estão bem patentes na página que lhes é dedicada no site Estudos Brasileiros em Portugal, site esse que funcionará como uma base de dados da situação desta área em Portugal. Como se afirma na página de Apresentação do site,
O futuro dos Estudos Brasileiros na universidade portuguesa depende muito — e o mesmo é válido, de resto, para boa parte das disciplinas da área das Humanidades — de uma cultura de colaboração, que deverá ir da docência à investigação e à publicação. Uma cooperação organizada e regular contribuirá para que os “estudos brasileiros em Portugal” possam ganhar a densidade epistemológica de uma área científica dotada de uma perspetiva própria.
Do ensino à investigação, aos encontros científicos e à criação de plataformas de publicação e, por fim, à afirmação institucional no plano nacional e no internacional, os Estudos Brasileiros em Portugal só terão futuro em rede. É essa, pois, a perspetiva que norteia o trabalho do IEB.
UNICAMP
Desde o dia 19 de Abril de 2016, a Universidade de Coimbra e a UNICAMP – Universidade Estadual de Campinas puseram em prática um convénio para a área dos Estudos Brasileiros, ratificado ao mais alto nível, numa cerimónia no IEB, pelos reitores das duas instituições. O convénio abarca as disciplinas acolhidas pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra (FLUC) – Humanidades, Artes, Ciências Sociais -, visando em particular os seguintes objetivos:
mobilidade de docentes e de estudantes;
eventos científicos e publicações;
projetos de investigação e de transferência de saberes;
co-titulação de cursos e programas (conferentes e não-conferentes de grau, de graduação e de pós-graduação);
co-orientações e participação em júris associadas a projetos de teses de mestrado, doutoramento e pós-doutoramento a concretizar nos dois países.
O convénio, que tem como coordenadores, pela parte portuguesa, Osvaldo Manuel Silvestre, e, pela parte brasileira, Alcir Pécora, permitirá à FLUC reforçar a sua oferta e presença no domínio dos Estudos Brasileiros através do intercâmbio com aquela que é, reconhecidamente, uma das grandes universidades do Brasil. E permitirá ainda que o IEB, sem abandonar os objetos de estudo que o definem desde a sua fundação – a literatura e a cultura brasileiras -, funcione também como uma plataforma multidisciplinar numa versão mais alargada de Estudos Brasileiros.

CLP
Within the logic of Portugal’s sientific system, the I&D unit with which the IEB deals with more closely is the Center for Portuguese Literature (CLP), since the goal of that uni tis precisely the study of Portuguese literature but also of all the other Portuguese-speaking literatures around the world. Furthermore, the teaching staff in Brazilian literature on which the FLUC relies upon, are also full members of CLP.
Brazilian Literature Teachers in Portugal Network
The IEB keeps close collaboration with the Brazilian Literature Teachers in Portugal Network, an organization set up in 2015. The network’s goals are clearly stated in the webpage devoted to it on the Brazilian Studies in Portugal website. The site will desirably work as a database for the statu quo of that field of studies in the country. As it is declared on the Presentation page in the website,
The future of Brazilian Studies in the Portuguese university system is heavily dependant on a culture of collaboration which should travel from teaching to research and publications. The same is to be said for a fair portion of the disciplines within the Humanities. An organized and regular cooperation will be instrumental for the field of “Brazilian studies in Portugal”. It will contribute for the much-needed epistemological density that such a scientific field with a proper perspective aims at.
From teaching to research, scientific meetings and the creation of publishing platforms and, finally, to the institutional ensurance both national and internationally, Brazilian Studies in Portugal will only have a future if shared through networks. That is the viewpoint and belief that guides the work of the IEB.
UNICAMP
From April 19, 2016, the Universities of Coimbra (Portugal) and UNICAMP – State University of Campinas (Brazil) set up a covenant focusing on the Brazilian Studies field. The agreement was then ratified at the highest level by the Deans of the two aforementioned Universities, in a ceremony held at the IEB. The covenant embraces the courses hosted by the University of Coimbra’s Faculty of Arts (FLUC) – Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences – pursuing the following goals:
Students and teaching staff mobility;
Scientific events and publications;
Research projects and knowledge-transfer;
Joint responsibility for courses and study programes (wether on not conferring degrees, graduate and post-graduate);
Joint tutoring and participation in jury’s boards in association with masters’ dissertations, doctoral and post-doctoral proofs to be conducted in both countries.
The covenant, which has as coordinators Osvaldo Manuel Silvestre on the Portuguese part and Alcir Pécora on the Brazilian side, will allow the FLUC to reinforce its offer and its presence in the field of Brazilian Studies, by establishing this exchange with a university that ranks admittedly among the best in Brazil. Furthermore, it will allow the IEB to establish itself as a multi-disciplinary platform within a far-reaching version of Brazilian Studies, without abandoning its founding topics: Brazilian literature and culture.
